More about Premium Gas.jpg
Why some vehicles need Premium gasoline

Not all engines are the same — and neither are fuels. Modern, high-performance, and imported vehicles (like many JDM models) are often designed to run on premium gasoline.

1. Engine Design and Power

Premium fuel has a higher octane rating, which means it can handle more pressure before it ignites. High performance and turbocharged engines squeeze the air and fuel mixture tightly to make more power. Premium gas prevents knocking or pinging, keeping the engine running smoothly and safely.

2. Maximum Efficiency and Performance

Engines that are tuned for premium fuel can produce more power and better fuel economy when they get the right octane. Using regular gas in a vehicle that recommends premium may cause the engine’s computer to reduce performance to protect itself — meaning less power and lower mileage.

3. Built for Modern Technology

Many newer vehicles use advanced engine technology and sensors that constantly adjust for the fuel being used. Premium gasoline helps these engines perform as designed and keeps them cleaner and more efficient over time.

4. Designed for JDM and High-Performance Cars

Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) and other high-performance vehicles are often built for countries where premium fuel is the standard (such as Japan’s 100 RON fuel). To match that engineering, using premium gasoline here ensures optimal performance, reliability, and longevity.

Regular or Premium?

  • Check your owner’s manual or the label inside your fuel door.

  • If your vehicle says “premium recommended,” it will run on regular, but with reduced performance.

  • If it says “premium required,” always use premium to avoid engine damage.

At Roundabout Service Station, we offer only Premium Gasoline certified to help keep your engine clean and running at its best.
